I Girls Windsurfing Camp

The first official Girls Windsurfing Camp in Argentina took place last Easter week in Cuesta del viento Argentina.
Cuesta Del viento is a lake 180 km west from San Juan´s city. It’s a gorgeous with unbelievable turquoise waters, framed with the Andes mountain range make this place a hidden paradise for nature and windsurfing lover s. This lake has been Argentina’s Mecca of windsurfing because of its high winds averaging from 30 to 50 knots everyday November till May.
10 girls from all over the country and 2 Chileans participated in this event, which included, windsurfing lessons, yoga, healthy food, and other extreme sports such as long boarding and climbing.
Maggie Roca the event planer has been windsurfing for the last 10 years and spent 5 of those in the island of Maui Hawaii, perfecting her skills and teaching in world class windsurfing schools. With this Camp she wanted to create an atmosphere of friendshipp and motivate women into this incredible sport.  She thinks combing yoga is key too pamper the body and acquire more strength and flexibility.
The camp included windsurfing lessons, yoga classes ever morning at the beach , long boarding in  the perfect hills surrounding the town, and learning how to rock climb in the wall at La Morada a bar restaurant , windsurfers meeting place that  offers great food and atmosphere,  rafting, ping pong, and all sorts of fun activities.
A normal day at the camp included waking up to the smell of  fresh baked bread, cereal, yogurts, seeds, and homemade cookies, then yoga at the beach , and then windsurfing all day, Cuesta del viento is an excellent place for all windsurfing levels, because every morning its waters are calm with a very light wind, perfect for beginners. The wind starts picking up around 12 and continues till around 3 it reaches it peaks for expert to enjoy 30 or 40 knots of extreme rush!
The camps was a success and all the girls went home happy and ready to participate I the next one in October.
